Steve Strang, MPA is a Senior Consultant, Practice Director at Spectrum Nonprofit Services where he provides consulting and training in sustainability strategies for community-based organizations and oversees business development operations. His work focuses on partnering with organizations to understand and measure their impact, define the market in which they work, and shape a business model to accomplish their goals. Additionally, he has experience training in board governance, nonprofit leadership, and membership management. Steve is a former board member and chair of YNPN Chicago, and advisory board member at the Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management at North Park University and the nonprofit Allow Good. Additionally, he is a mentor for YNPN Chicago’s Leadership Institute. Previously he worked with Forefront, the state association of nonprofits in Illinois, as the Nonprofit Programs Manager overseeing membership, conferences, and training programs. Steve also has experience as a federal grants trainer with the University of Chicago, and at the American Red Cross of Chicago and Denver. He earned his BS in Public and Nonprofit Administration from Grand Valley State University and MPA from Roosevelt University with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management. Steve resides in Evanston, Illinois.
